A chatelaine is "a clasp or chain worn at the waist for holding keys, a purse, or a watch." :)

My dear friend Rainer made me some fabulous jewelry - a chatelaine, as well as a pin, both inlaid with black pearls, as a birthday present. I love the look of black pearls. I've been staring at them since I got them.
