Haider Hair Also

The video for Haider Ackerman's SS14 show was so inspiring because I got to see the boys up close, moving. I mean, I can do that backstage at the shows I attend, but these looks are particularly interesting to me. There's a hint of 80s luxe (Romeo Gigli comes to mind) with shapes that would not be out of step with Damir Doma or even Rick Owens, but there's a romanticism akin to Dries. I'm keeping an eye on Ackerman. And also on my wallet...

Loving your work, I attend a art university and I cant sketch everday for the life of me. What programs/brushes do you use for the hair, it looks great.

Hi Mischa, thanks for the compliments! I use Photoshop with brushes I've customized for both the pencils and the watercolors. I started with free online brushes I found for both techniques, then slowly adjusted their various settings by trial and error, until I came to brushes that I felt reflect the natural media I was trying to emulate. I think the watercolors started with the Nagel series versions, which you can find online for free...
